# Do I need a scanner for my documents, or are clear phone photos acceptable?

Clear, high-quality, readable photos from a phone camera are generally accepted, provided they are converted to a standard format (like PDF or JPEG). Requirements for Acceptance: The photo must be well-lit and clearly legible. The entire document, including all four corners, must be visible. The file size must be within the portal's limits (usually 2-5 MB). Tip: Use a document scanner app (like Adobe Scan or Google Drive) on your phone to turn the photos into clean, cropped PDF files.
